Capture IP traffic to/from Sunsa blinds

asked 2025-10-02 14:54:30 +0000

I have a couple of these blinds. They are controlled using an app on my phone. The blinds are connected via wi-fi to my router. The app on my phone sends requests to a server. The server sends commands to the blinds. The app also provides the means of scheduling the open and close of the blinds. If possible I'd like to be able to use my home control hub to control the blinds locally. Knowing the IP address of the blinds I tried to capture communications to/from them. I'm not very skilled at using WireShark so I'm looking for some suggestions on how to proceed or even thoughts as to whether doing this is likely to succeed.

There are diagrams for capture on wired networks here: https://wiki.wireshark.org/CaptureSet...
Use them as a starting point and rough out a diagram for your network.

Check if your router supports packet capture. If so, that is usually a quicker path than wireless capture.
