I want to capture all the ip traffic on my network and I use VM ware to surf the web. I want to see who is connecting to me (their IP address) and where they are located at? And any other useful info to trace the connections that I get, like to being able to lookup an ip address at "WHO IS..." ip locator.com. What filters do I use and how to use them? Please be very specific on how too this, I am a bit of a newbie at this and want to learn more about WS.

Thanks in advance!

Hopefully you are behind a firewall so that minimizes the incoming connections. Anyway, though Wireshark could be used for this, there are likely better tools for network visibility at a higher level to show and summarize different IPs, TCP connections, and the like. Try: ntopng, https://www.ntop.org/

Of course you are welcome to slog through all the needless packets; try the Wireshark wiki and some online courses.
