A XML file containing 3GPP trace of size approximately 450KB (~4600 lines) doesn't load on wireshark. A dialog box with the below error is shown:

The file "1.xml" could not be opened: No error.

Is there any size limit which is causing this loading error?

The XML file mostly contains 3GPP application messages with the corresponding hex dump.

Chances are that Wireshark can't open that type of a file - what Specification describes the format of the file?

If the format is according to 3GPP TS 32.423 then Wireshark should be able to read it and if it's not then you should raise a bug report.

Yes, the format is according to 3GPP TS 32.423. When I shorten the file size by removing multiple traceRecSession's, then it works fine.

We'd need a bug with the trace file to figure out what goes wrong.
