No interfaces found

Installed v2.4.4, and had the installer also run the installer for WinPCap4.1.3 with the option to load at boot being unchecked.
Ran fine - exactly as how I know it runs on another machine (WinXP.x32).
A few days later, no interfaces can be found.
The computer has not been through a reboot since installation. However, it has gone through (several) cold standby conditions.
Tried the sc stop|start npf with no change. NPF is running.
Ran WinDump: WinDump: PacketGetAdapterNames: The data area passed to a system call is too small. (122)
Ran Dumpcap -D: dumpcap: There are no interfaces on which a capture can be done
Again, Wireshark ran fine immediately after installing.
NetGroup Packet Filter Driver in Device Manager shows no problems.
