Don't mask non-printable characters (Windows)

Is there any way to have Wireshark not mask non-printable characters in the packet view on the bottom? Currently, any characters < 0x20 and >= 0x7f are shown as '.' This behavior makes it very hard for me to make sense of a packet's content dump, as I typically use a font with OEM/DOS encoding which has a unique glyph for each ASCII character 0 to 0xff, and lets me makes sense of a binary dump much easier than looking at hex codes.

It would be possible to have an option for the dialog to specify a single-byte character set (SBCS) in which to interpret the characters - there is no single SBCS that it should be wired to. Multiple-byte character sets are trickier.

If you want that to happen, you will need to file an enhancement request on the Wireshark Bugzilla; that's the place to make enhancement requests, not here.

So I take it this is not possible to do currently? (I'm a fairly new Wireshark user). If so, I'll go ahead and file an enhancement request.
