Baby steps: capturing printer packets issued by Notepad

Home network: Router + 3 WiFi devices (2 laptops, 1 printer) So far, I've set up communications between the laptops using Telnet server/client and captured + identified the Telnet being carried as a TCP payload.

Next move: Leave Telnet, open Notepad, print ‘Hello World’ to the printer. It prints but can’t seem to find associated packets (or a payload that might be in an encrypted form)

Question: In broad terms, how would Notepad send data to the printer – or, if I’m about to disappear down a rabbit hole, maybe I’ll make that next move: set up FTP between laptops…

Any comments greatly appreciated 😊
