I have tried below ways to suppress but didn't work.

changed the value in preferences file gui.update.enabled: FALSE

modify the registry value under HKCU\Software\Wireshark\WinSparkle Settings

Those options just suppress the automatic check. To remove the menu items you'll need to modify the code and rebuild Wireshark. How to build Wireshark and obtain the source code is detailed in the Developers Guide, although note this is for 2.4.x\2.5.x.

I don't have any code to accomplish what you want, you could try raising an enhancement request on the Wireshark Bugzilla to see if anyone else is interested in implementing this.

If you believe that the automatic update check disable functionality isn't working, please raise a bug on the Wireshark Bugzilla. Again, not that this does NOT disable the menu item, that is always enabled.

AFAICT, the WinSparkle SkipThisVersion setting isn't really for external use, it's for use by WinSparkle when the user indicates they wish to skip an upgrade version. You can try setting it to see what happens.

Out of interest why are you trying to restrict your users from upgrades?
