Monitoring raspberry pi vpn

I have set up a VPN using my raspberry pi. I was wondering if I could use Wireshark or something like it, to get packets from the VPN. For example, on my phone I connect to my raspberry pi via the VPN, can I use Wireshark to get packets that are being transmitted between the raspberry pi and my phone?

You can use Wireshark on the Raspberry Pi to capture packets, yes. You will probably want to check out Wireshark article on ESP as well as answers from similar questions.
