Wireshark kills VMware workstation bridged VMs

I run VMWare workstation. When I install Wireshark my VM, using bridged mode, lose access to the LAN. Is there a way to prevent this?

You will need to provide more information (ideally by editing your post).

Like the info you get from entering tshark -v in a terminal (You can also copy + paste the info from Wireshark > About in the GUI)

  • Expand on what "lose access to the LAN" means and what that looks like
  • Go into detail about the steps you use to get to the problem state
