Email Attachement Packet

Good morning

I am new to wireshark and looking for some help to complete an assignment. We have to capture username and password and email attachment.

I can only seem to capture packets from my machine and have tried all sorts including making sure promiscuous mode is on, but I cant seem to capture packets of an email I am sending from another machine.

I have a windows installation of wireshark and can also access wireshark through Kalilinux.

I am using a wifi network.

I have been told that it has something to do with "bridging", but no clue how that works.

Any help provided greatly appreciated

please add more details of your setup!

Are both systems (E-Mail seder and Sniffer) in the same Wifi network? Same SSID, same AP? Anything that helps to understand your request.
