computer not receiving dhcp offer

Hi,

I have a strange problem. On a flat network, a windows computer tries to get an IP address from DHCP and fails. Using Wireshark, I can see that the DHCP server sees the discover packet, sends an offer... and that's the last you see of it. I had this problem with our wifi clients, but I think it was RF interference. Now I'm seeing it on the cabled clients as well. I will be checking via port mirroring to see if the offer packet makes it to the destination switch port, but if it does (which means it's not a switching problem) - then what? My Google-fu has not found any useful information as to why a computer would ignore the dhcp offer packet. I have the latest NIC drivers installed and re-installed.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Ah, sorry folks. Turns out it was a routing issue. The dhcp relay agent knew how to get the request to the server, but the server didn't have the correct route to get the answer back to the relay agent. Fix the routing tables, and voila. Thanks for the ideas and quick responses.
