I can not use the wareshark 4.2.5 for capture HTTP protocols on a Mac Book pro M3 (MAC OS Sonoma 14.5) how can I issue this problem?
I am trying to capture the HTTP protocol (http://gaia.cs.umass.edu/wireshark-la...), but unfortunately, I can not capture HTTP. I am using Wi-Fi: en0. Also, I contacted support from Apple, and they told me that the issue must be solved for the people of Wireshark. Please let me know what is the best solution.
Please note that HTTP can run either directly over TCP or can run over TLS; the latter is sometimes called "https", because the "https" URL scheme is used for HTTP-over-TLS.
If it's HTTP-over-TLS, Wireshark can capture it, but can't dissect it without having enough information to decrypt it. See the "TLS" page in the Wireshark Wiki..
When I browsed that URL in a new "private" window I got the full HTTP transaction, no sign of HTTPS at all. IMO it's an issue with the OP's capture setup.
Hello, I did other tests. I used a MacBook Air M1 2020 with OS Ventura 13.0.1. and with Wireshark 4.2.5 I had positive results the first time because I captured the HTTP protocol (http://gaia.cs.umass.edu/wireshark-la... ) with Wi-Fi: en0. Later, I cleaned the cache memory and tried to repeat the process, but I can not capture the HTTP protocol. What other conclusion could be?
What cache memory is that? Do you mean you cleaned your browser's cache?
Yes it is, I cleaned my browser's cache in Google Chrome.
