How to set default for new columns being added

First time here? Check out the FAQ!

When adding a new column, I don't like that they are always added to the far right. Is there a way to set the default position? I'm thinking like "add new columns all the way left" or "add new columns 3 columns from left" etc.

By dragging a field from the packet details pane on top of the column headers, it will be added before the column you drop it on. I find that the most convenient and quick way of adding a column at the place where you want it.
