This means I cannot install the npcap loopback adaptor with my Wireshark installation. i tried installing a separate npcap from their website (and I tried the older version of Wireshark), but same problem arises - there is no option to install the npcap loopback adaptor in the installation procedure.

I therefore have no loopback adaptor listed in my network adaptors. What can I do to sort this out? I'm using win11.

I have had to uninstall wireshark and Npcap until I can find a solution.

The recent npcap installers, for some time, don't have an option to install the loopback adaptor, it's automagically installed.

In Wireshark, in the list of adaptors, you should see "Adaptor for loopback traffic capture" somewhere.

Yes, I noticed that the adaptor for loopback traffic capture showed in Wireshark main page, but that the adaptor didn't show in my list of network adaptors in Windows. I wondered about that. I was referencing a youtube video for installation help that is 4 years old, so that must be the reason, not realizing it's now virtual adaptors.

If that's ok then, i will re-install. Thanks Graham.
