For some reason when I use a VPN I cannot see other peoples IP's anymore, it just display's mine, and the VPN IP, with a bunch of other very similar versions but a few numbers off. I don't want to disable the VPN as it wouldn't be a good idea without it, but I can't see anyone's IP anymore. Any idea how to fix or what's causing this?

Which interface to you select to do the capture on? Does the VPN software create a virtual interface next to the physical interface?

I'm not sure how to reply I think this is the way, using windows 10. Normally without the VPN I would select "Wi-Fi" from the options when you boot up wireshark, I assume that's what you mean. I did find that "Local Area Connection" could be showing other player's IPs but I cannot fully confirm, could this be possible?

Once the VPN connection is established you will notice a number of 'tunnel' interfaces appear.

From cmd prompt run 'ipconfig' and hit enter. Look through the list and try to see if you can pick out the tunnel interface for the VPN connection.

Then, launch your wireshark and select the interface in question and you should be good from there. Of course make sure to do this once the VPN connection has been established and is UP.

If something is not clear just let us know here.

What exactly is a tunnel interface or just a normal interface? Is that like Ethernet, Local Area Connection, Wi-Fi, or something else? I'm looking through IP config with the VPN on and I cannot see the VPN IP anywhere am I missing or doing something wrong?

Hmm, like I thought before Local Area connection might be the right one. I tried VPN on and off. When it's on using IPconfig "Unknown Adapter Local Area Connection" will display data although it won't be my VPN's IP. But with the VPN off, the data is replaced with "Media disconnected" just like every other interface (if that's what it's called) other than Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi which will always display data with any connection.
