My ethernet connection doesn't work until i start capturing packets, or restart
Almost every time (95 %) when i load my PC up, I don't have any connection until I restart the computer or, what seems more weird, until i start capturing packets on ethernet, at the start I thought it was just a coincidence, but after a few weeks of using this technique to connect to ethernet I am really confused, why does this work, any thoughts?
You're a Windows user, right? Windows 11 maybe?
Yes, but Windows 10
These kind of thing does get occasionally reported, but never really resolved. I tend to think of network stack corruption as the cause.
Not for the faint-hearted, but MS to have instructions on resetting TCP/IP which I believe still work on Win 10.
You might also want to try uninstalling npcap, rebooting, downloading the latest version and installing it.
Uninstall NPCAP and USBPCAP then try your Ethernet connection. If that clears then problem is probably a NDIS driver conflict
Uninstalling NPCAP helped!
