Wondering if there is any shortcut to copy bucnh of lines from the top "Packet List" window without going to details windows.

right now, I have to do that by right clicking > copy > summary as text.

another thing is I can select only 1 line at a time which is annoying as it requires me to do several clicks to copy 5 lines from packet list for example.

Let me know if there is any shortcut to copy multiple line from packet list window with keyboard shortcut.

thank you SunMan

I don't know of any.

Please file a bug on this on the Wireshark Bugzilla, to serve as a reminder that this should be done. We should make it possible to select multiple packets and to do "copy" and get a copy of all the lines in question as text. (We may still have other "Copy as" menu items to do other types of copy.)

Here is what I do:

Right click the starting line in the Summary window of the lines you want to save and select "Mark/Unmark Packet".

Right click the ending line in the Summary window of the lines you want to save and select "Mark/Unmark Packet".

Go to File->Export Packet Dissections->As Plain Text (or csv your choice).

In the "Packet Range" section of the popup select "Displayed" and "First to last marked".

In the "Packet Format" section of the popup select "Packet Summary Line" or whatever you need.

Add your save file name and location then press "Save".

Now you have a file with all the information you want in ascii format. You can cut/paste etc. to your heart's content.

Good Luck
