Can wireshark do packet capture for 24x7

Hi All,

I want to know whether we can run wireshark 24x7 on our windows server side, and also how much space it will use for usage (complete space requirements for installation and usage). (For example : for a network of 100 devices, running 24x7).

Please do let me know. Thanks.

No.

But you can run long term capture using different means, e.g. running dumpcap, the Wireshark capture engine, or ntop traffic recorder.

A search for "long term capture" should show various explanations of this.

As for the space requirements, that depends on parameters such as traffic volume, traffic capture size, traffic retention period, among others.
