Just wondering if you can help me on a question about the ability to create test packet traffic

Wireshark does not have the ability to generate traffic. There is information about third party traffic packet generators on the Wireshark Wiki

Can wireshark filter packets based on selectable criteria? Also does it have ability to display packet contents for analysis?
