how to i put the mmdb files into wireshark 2.5.1?
hi, i just painfully went through the process of getting the developer copy of wireshark due to a weird bug that caused me to highlight and scroll anything that i hovered my mouse over. the only problem is you guys took the geolite database support away and replaced that with MMDB file support. i have the mmdb files that i need, but cant seem to find the setting let alone the folder or location to choose the mmdb files. can you guys please help me?
every time i try to click on it for the path it exits wireshark
oh, i forgot to mention my operating system. i am using Kali 2018.1
MaxMind stopped distributing GeoLite Legacy databases in April 2018, which probably explains things. https://www.wireshark.org/docs/wsug_html/#ChMaxMindDbPaths
Do you need to understand where to place the mmdb files? That's also covered in the link above.
