cant capture smartphone packets

hi can i capture smartphone packets in wireshark with pc which connected pysicaly to dsl/modem if not how to capture and if yes why i can just see arp packets from my phone and no more types of packets?

Your dsl\modem is likely to be a switch so you are attempting to capture on a switched network and that generally won't be possible without some support from the switch which is unlikely with an ISP supplied device.

There is a dirty trick to get more traffic out of a switch. But it requires you to make your own cable. And it is dirty as it may overload your switch.But I would not recommend it unless you know exactly what you are doing and why.

If you're having an Android phone, you can install "PCAP Remote" from the store to capture the traffic from a single app or the complete phone.
