Packet List pane missing and option in View greyed out

My packet list pane disappeared suddenly and the Packet List option in the View menu is now greyed out. I have tried restarting Wireshark, restarting my machine, and even uninstalling and reinstalling the application. Problem persists.

I'm on macOS

The most logical explanation is that you changed the layout preferences. Go to Wireshark -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Layout and check if packet list is selected under pane 1 (or any other pane).
