Hello everyone,

What are the best books currently to learn Wireshark and Network Engineering.

Finding too much out of date stuff.

Appreciate the help!

Can you better define your goal? WCNA? Helping others? Make your life easier?
For network - Comer, Stevens
Wireshark - the Chappell books can be frustrating till they are updated but lots of good material/labs. The Sanders book at NoStarch is a little more current and sometimes available in a Humble Bundle.

Thank you so much for the information. Looking more to start a career in network engineering. I've been working as an information security analyst, but want to do more network engineering work.

Stevens' book on protocols is excellent. In my view, it's not about Wireshark - the value comes from knowing the protocols. Wireshark is just the tool that show what happened; it is knowing what was supposed to happen and comparing that provides for real problem solving.
