Stats after servers operating for two days accumlated counters from Using Windows Performance/Resource Manager

Virtual-HOST- HYPER-V WIN 2019-STD Datagrams Received Address Errors = 89,125,084 Datagrams Received Discarded = 9,656,764 other stats < 100 IP packets nothing lost in send/receive.

Guest-Host on above server WIN 2016-STD Datagrams Received Address Errors = 81,248 Datagrams Received Discarded = 1,024,271 other stats < 100 IP packets nothing lost in send/receive.

Hi,

The trick to troubleshooting discards is to capture the traffic before it is dropped by the interface.

I don't think you'll have good results capturing on the hosts themselves because the interface will have dropped the packet before sending to Wireshark.

You may be able to capture on the virtual switch but your mileage may vary.

If possible try to use a network TAP to capture "on the wire."
