How to decode ansi_tcap.private == 25605

Hi, I see from my Wireshark that it doesnt decode message properly for messages that have ansi_tcap.private == 25605. It says the following: Dissectors for ANSI TCAP Private code:25605 not implemented. Contact Wireshark developers if you want this supported (Spec required).

Please let me know if there is a way to decode such messages properly in Wireshark.

Hi Jaap,

Thank you for your feedback. I browsed the Q&A forum here and there was also a question about Wireshark not able to decode ansi_tcap.private == 25603. Both ansi_tcap.private == 25603 and 25605 are based on GR-1298 and GR-1299 specifications. Do you have access to those specs? if we can have Wireshark to be able to decode messages in these 2 specs, it would be great!

Hi Jaap and other developers,

I am now using Wireshark version 3.0.5 and it can decode ansi_tcap.private == 25605 better. I do see couple of things that can be improved: 1. For AIN Digits parameters, such as calledPartyID, callingPartyID, etc, I see that Wireshark shows nature of address (ain.nature_of_address). From AIN spec, there is not nature of address, but there is nature of number. I would suggest that Wireshark change ain.nature_of_address to ain.nature_of_number to reflect the actual parameter. 2. For callingPartyID, per the GR1299 spec, there are Presentation Restriction Indicator and Screening Indicator, but Wireshark doesnt present these parameters in user friendly format. I do see it from the hex bits. Users might find this to be difficult if they need to decode the hex bits themselves. I would suggest that Wireshark should decode these parameters properly.
