Hello,

Can someone please let me know how to sniff exclusively all traffic between a Windows 10 PC and Xbox One Console? I am unable to stream games from the Xbox One to my Windows 10 PC. Even though I have tried all the troubleshooting steps provided by Microsoft. I therefore want to look at all the traffic between the two devices to attempt to ascertain the root cause of the problem.

Many thanks

Hi PaleKing,

I assume you have installed the latest version of Wireshark on your Windows 10 PC.

You can set a capture filter on Wireshark to capture only traffic to and from a certain host.

You'll need the IP address of your Xbox One. Go to Settings --> Network --> Advanced Settings (if memory serves).

Once you have the IP address of the game console go to your PC and start Wireshark.

In the bottom half of the window you should see the Capture section with a list of available interfaces.

In the "... using this filter:" box you need to enter the IP address of the game console.

Using this syntax host 1.2.3.4

You then start capturing by double clicking on the interface you use to connect to your network. (Wired or wireless)

You should only see traffic between your PC and the Xbox One.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Spooky
