Dell Laptop Crashes Netgear Router

  1. I got an Inspiron 5567 Laptop for Christmas. Since then the laptop crashes my Netgear R7000 router daily.
  2. At that point cannot login to the router at 192.168.1.1 (no response). I can Ping it.
  3. I can, sometimes, connect between all devices Wired/Wifi on my LAN.
  4. I can connect to my ATT Modem with a browser.
  5. I can also connect to the Internet, with a browser, if I use a VPN.
  6. Powering the router off/on resolves the problem.
  7. I have factory reset the router and also tested a new Netgear Router. No joy!

For the laptop in question (laptopA) and another laptop (LaptopB) I've run the following Test:

  1. I've setup a batch file that pings "www.netgear.com" every 15 minutes. Results to file with date/time.
  2. I'm running a full capture on both laptops with Wireshark.

The result is that LaptopB stopped early this morning while LaptopA continued. All other devices had no internet, WiFi or hardwired. After sleeping, LaptopA was no longer connected.

So I have these Wireshark Captures and know when the crash occurred. I have no idea where to start analyzing the data. I have been able to use display filters, but when I find somethingthat doesn't 'look right', I just learn a little more about Internet Protocol.

Suggestions?? Where do I start??

For Update: I have found that DropBox on the laptop in question (laptopA) causes the crash. Below I have shown the DB discovery protocol trace for two IPs. 192.168.1.17 and another all other IPs on my LAN have 2 trys. Only 192.168.1.50 (The Laptop) shows multiple trys. The laptop (LaptopB) I've run the following Test:typically has 4 trys. This one capture is 6 trys, and I suspect it goes crazy sometimes and causes the crash.

Any know what can cause this behavior. I have done a batch file that pings "www.netgear.com" every 15 minutes. Results to file with date/time.
