In an earlier life Bob designed and developed real-time systems and networking equipment. In recent decades he has served as a performance engineer, developing and using packet-analysis tools that complement Wireshark with a wider range of analytical tools and a richer set of charts to show and correlate many aspects of system behaviour. He has resolved complex performance problems in the applications and networks of IT systems around the world.
