RTP Player Playback Error (Wireshark 2.4.0)

0

After upgrading to Wireshark 2.4.0, the RTP player no longer works on any audio interface and provides the following error:

"Speakers/Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) does not support PCM at 8000 Hz, Int16LE. Preferred format is 44100 Hz, Int16Le."

The player worked in all previous version with my audio devices. Is anyone else having this issue?

Not in my case. It even plays much better than the last time I've tried (2.2.1? 2.2.3?) where the playback wasn't smooth, and doesn't make the CPU glow red as it did.

What platform are you using? I have 4 different Windows 10 machines doing the same thing. Different audio cards/chipsets as well. Very strange.

Downgrade to 2.2.8 and no issues with RTP player playback. I am writing bug report on this.

I'm currently running Wireshark on a HP ProBook 6570b with IDT integrated sound card, Win10 Pro 1703/15063.483.

I have the exact same problem! I upgraded from 1.x because of some missing features for SIP analysis in the early 2.x builds.

Now I see error message "Speakers/Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) does not support PCM at 8000 Hz, Int16LE. Preferred format is 44100 Hz, Int16Le." Has this been solved?

@eltonline

A change has been made in bug 13906 that is currently only avaiable in the 2.5 development release, can you try that version? Note also that you may have to set the output device to "Default Output Device".
