"Versions" in what sense?

The download page on the Wireshark Web site currently offers Wireshark 3.0.1 for Windows (32-bit and 64-bit) and macOS. Those are all built from the same source code, so we're offering the 3.0.1 release, or "version 3.0.1", for Windows and macOS - we don't offer 3.0.0 for Windows and 3.0.1 for macOS, for example.

We don't offer separate downloads for different versions of Windows, so we have the same download for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10. We just offer different downloads for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows, because one of them is 32-bit code and one is 64-bit code.

However, because the operating systems are different, we do have different downloads for Windows and macOS, even though they're compiled from the same source code.

Furthermore, we include, with both Windows and macOS versions, various libraries that we use and that aren't provided by the OS; the versions of some or all of those libraries included in the current Windows release may be different from the versions included in the current macOS release.
