Cannot see TCP package in monitor mode

Hi, I was trying to use wireshark to capture TCP/UDP package. I have set my wifi adapter into monitor mode, and the network I'm interested in is an open network (no password needed). However, all packages in wireshark are 802.11 protocol. Does anybody know how can I see TCP packages? Thank you so much.
