Hey, I was sharing my wifi to my mobile phone in order to see the traffic - The Wifi works well but Wireshark does not recognize the connection - its shows me like there's not connection at all.

Need your help) Thanks

Btw - It works properly when I'm connected to my computer wifi and see the MAC packets traffic.

Radani - You need to change sharing permissions so that people here can see/download the file.

Also, please provide the output of tshark -D and tell us which interface you're capturing on.

Hey, You're right - I changed the permissions for the picture- https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ZSy...

I have Version 3.0.0. I do not see any packets when I share the WIFI for some reason....

tshark -v shows you version and system information. We want tshark -D, which lists interfaces. If you're on Macos or Linux, it would be helpful if you open Wireshark, start capturing, and then get the results of ps ux | grep "[d]umpcap", which will give us the interface name.

My apologies. I meant go to your command line (on Macos, ⌘-SPACE, type in terminal), and enter those commands. Looking at the picture though, it looks like you're capturing on the Wi-Fi (en0) interface. Some additional questions for context:

  • What is the model of your phone?
  • Are you using "Internet Sharing" (i.e. Sharing > Internet Sharing)? If not, can you provide the guide you're using to set the "wifi sharing"?

Looks like a karma gathering "answer" that doesn't actually answer the question.
