I am having trouble with Wireshark starting using Windows 10.
It just hangs at startup. Not sure if it's related to WinPcap or not. I am not having any issue under Windows 7.
So doing a bit of research, I found that setting the compatibility mode to Windows 7 fixes this problem.
Write click Wireshark.exe and select Properties -> Compatibility tab Set the compatibility mode for windows 7 Hope this helps someone having the same problem under Windows 8 or 10
I've never needed to do this, and by the lack of general complaint it would seem that most others don't either.
I suspect there is some other issue in your environment that is causing the issue and that setting the compatibility mode "fixes" that. At least it's a workaround for those that do suffer the issue.

If you have installed USBPcap, try to remove USBPcapCMD.exe from
C:\Program Files\Wireshark\extcap
(or where you have installed Wireshark). If that helps, you've likely hit bug 12845.I have the same problem with Wireshark 2.4.4. I did not install USBPcap. Please help!
Installed Wireshark 2.4.4 64-bit and WinPcap 4.1.3. It came with the latest download that I pulled today. I am running Win 10 Pro. Greatly appreciate any help!
