Where's the wireless toolbar?

I just upgraded to Wireshark 2.6.6 on Win10, and the check mark item for showing the wireless toolbar isn't in the View menu anymore. I tried going back to previous versions, and it looks like 2.6.4 is the last version that had it. Has the wireless toolbar been removed, is there another way to show it, or is this a bug?

Please raise a Wireshark bug report for the missing wireless toolbar.

I got the same issue with the latest version.

If you have AirpCap, still you can capture in desired channel.

Install the AirpCap driver from its website. Then open AirPcap Control panel from windows start. Select the channel and click ok.

Now open wireshark and try capturing. It will capture in desired channel. All set now!

...and it doesn't help if you don't have AirPcap.

Any progress for this issue? I am using Wireshark on MacOS. Because the wireless toolbar is no longer available, I am no longer able to set the channel on which to scan. By the way, the AirPcap product for Windows is EOL in the mean time. When can we expect the wireless toolbar back, or is there an alternative to set wifi parameters for scanning?

Well, so far this is the best answer. The wireless toolbar was removed and the best way to get it back for those with AirPcap adapters at least is for someone to review and approve the supplied patch.

I think the patch should be a runtime check for the availability of an AirPcap, not just enabled in all builds. Unfortunately I have 0 time to look at this.

Page 14 of the presentation above shows the Wireless Toolbar with an existing pcap (no AirPcap).

View -> Wireless Toolbar

is easier to find than

Edit -> Preferences... -> Protocols -> IEEE 802.11

To set: - Enable decryption - Decryption keys

OK, the toolbar is mostly inoperative without an AirPcap via runtime detection, so yes the toolbar can just be enabled for Windows. Someone needs to comment on the change.
