ERROR "user acidic-mind" does not exist
Hello, i am attempting to start and learn about wireshark hands on. I have Fedora 28 and i have installed wireshark through the terminal already and just made an account with wireshark. This is what i am having problems with
" [root@localhost ~]# usermod -a -G wireshark acidic-mind usermod: user 'acidic-mind' does not exist "
Am i doing something wrong or is there just a lag between when the account is created and when the databases are updated so we are able to sign in?
What do you mean by "just made an account with wireshark"?
Do you mean that you added the "acidic-mind" account to use with Wireshark, and some other account is the account you log in with?
When í go to start capturing, it tells me to sign in (í didn't know that you had to sign up to use it) so í signed up for(what í thought was) the wireshark group....this is the site to make an account right? Might not matter anyway, accidentally formatted the wrong partition and now í have to figure out how to boot from my windows dvd through fedora rescue mode in command prompt.....hopefully my live usb will save the day.
Sorry if i wasn't clear enough
If by "it" you mean Wireshark, Wireshark doesn't have a "sign in" screen. What exactly is this display where you're asked to sign in?
I can't put the exact dialogue on because my pc won't boot now, but it states "permission denied, are you part of the wireshark group? Use "usermod -a -G wireshark username_" i have to use the terminal to 'login'
