Secure Reliable Transport

asked 2018-10-15 17:40:51 +0000

According to the SRT Alliance webpage, the Wireshark tool "now has a plugin available directly supporting SRT". Link to the article: https://www.srtalliance.org/srt-with-...

I use the Wireshark tool under Windows 10 with 64 bit architecture, is there any way for me to be able to use this plugin?

Thanks for a great tool!

According to the SRT Alliance webpage, the Wireshark tool "now has a plugin available directly supporting SRT". Link to the article:

Unfortunately, the article doesn't have a link to the plugin itself, and:

  • this issue for the Haivision SRT open-source release has a claim, on March 28, 2018, that "We don't have a plugin for SRT dissector for Wireshark yet, but you can try to use UDT dissector, at least to see sequence numbers in data packets.";
  • the next comment after that claim says "Few weeks ago I have started to work on https://gitlab.websupport.sk/nct/srt/...", but that link goes to a project for which the last change was 7 months ago, updating the only file in the project, a README.md file, just saying "SRT Protocol Dissector for Wireshark";

so I'm not sure that plugin actually exists.

I use the Wireshark tool under Windows 10 with 64 bit architecture, is there any way for me to be able to use this plugin?

Only if 1) it exists and 2) it's been compiled (by you or somebody else) for 64-bit Windows.
