Captive Portal Logins

My university is an open network which redirects you to a login page. It's a captive portal login and the site is unencrypted, uses http, but i am not able to see other people login to the network with wireshark . Is there any possible reason?

You're not supposed to
The way you've setup your capture is wrong
Your HW/SW is not able to capture in the way you want

Best way forward is to research the various aspects of (I suspect) wireless capture and go from there.
