"Unknown GSMTAP version" Info in Wireshark Version 4.4.4

we have the problem that we can not read GSMTAP protocal in actual Wireshark Version (our comany use 4.4.4.).

In this version the Info will shown: "Unknown GSMTAP version (3)" if we open Wireshark in 4.4.4 with a GSMTAP trace.

Given the version checking added in 14623: GSMTAP: check version field this is not surprising.

But the GSMTAP protocol is readable In Old stable version (4.2.11)

Given that this version check appeared in Wireshark 4.4 this makes sense.

Our comany allows actual version of wireshark usage, only! Is there an update of GSMTAP protocol in 4.4.4 or higher in near time possible?

There is not going to be an update to the GSMTAP protocol in the stable release. It is called stable for a reason.

There is an open issue to support v3: 20252: Early adoption of GSMTAPv3 so if someone is willing to do the work, it may appear in the next Wireshark stable release, which could be created somewhere this year.

If your company very much depends on it, why not sponsor this development?! Maybe someone is up for it?
