how can we tell what update version covers which version of windows?

asked 2025-01-07 17:23:04 +0000

I have been told that version 4.2.6 is the last to support windows 10 machines, while everything after (ex. 4.4.0, 4.4.2) only supports windows 11 machines.

You can refer to the End of Support Planning table on the Wireshark LifeCycle wiki page for this information.

Thanks for that. Another add on question....what does "support" mean for Wire Shark? When it reads " Last release to support Windows 10", does that mean any newer versions will NOT work on win 10 machines? Like 4.4.x will not work on win 10 machines? or does it mean no customer service type of support?

This should be made more obvious - see Wireshark Web issue #29.
