dictionary.calix file
Hi,
On my society we used before Wiresharl 4.2.5. I wanted to update to version 4.4.0. I have a problem with a new type of file that wasn't present before: C:\Program Files\Wireshark\radius\dictionary.calix Files with calix extensions are blocked by our security rules as they are considered to be related to Ransonware Calix which encrypts files.
What exactly is this file for? Can it be removed from the installation?

If you delete the file,
radiuscoughs up an error:Also need to comment it out in file dictionary located in the
"Wireshark install directory"/radius.Or fix your errant security "solution" that misidentifies files by their extension.
For solution 1 : The issue is that the installation stop before end because it is blocked by our Anti virus.
For solution 2 : Yes, I will ask my security team but it is always complicated to have security exception...
It's not an exception, it's a fix - any software that assumes it can determine the type of a file from its extension is making an invalid assumption.
Perhaps the FreeRADIUS project should have chosen an extension such as ".frd" ("FreeRADIUS dictionary") for all their dictionary files, but they didn't and, for all I know, some malware might be called "FRD" and some security software might think any file with the extension ".frd" was part of malware and block all the files in the dictionary .
So here we are.
