I am trying to use Wireshark version 3.0.14 and cannot use the newer versions. I have disabled automatic updates by setting gui.update.enabled to FALSE but Wireshark still updates to 4.0.3.

Please add the output of wireshark -v or Help -> About Wireshark -> Copy to Clipboard contents.

I suspect this might be a duplicate of https://ask.wireshark.org/question/29... though, for which there is currently no solution, unfortunately, and something that has also plagued me for some time.

Yup, so you're also running on Windows. If/when you ever find an answer and resolution to this problem, I would love to know what it is too!
