MAC addresses shown in WLAN statistics do not appear in the capture!

asked Oct 31 '2

I have many addresses where 1 frame is shown transmitted or received from a particular BSSID,, but that MAC address is not present, any filter on it shows no results. Is this a bug? If Wireshark decoded the frame, enough to put it in the statistics results, wouldn't it be in the capture?

Does "that MAC address" refer to the "transmitted to or received from" address in "1 frame is shown transmitted or received from a particular BSSID", and is that address the MAC address of the AP rather than any of the stations?

I.e., is the MAC address in question a "Received address" or "Transmitted address" field in some frames, but not a "Source address" or "Destination address" field in any frames?

Can you open a Gitlab issue for this?

There seems to be a couple issues with IEEE 802.11 (wlan) packets in endpoints and conversations.
It would help if you could also attach a capture file that shows the isue.
