how can i resolve this issue in Wireshark?
When Wireshark is loaded it lists the available capture interfaces on its opening page. If only the so called extcap capture interfaces are shown you may need to set some parameters to make them work. Double click on the interface (in this case the Cisco Dump extcap) to pop up a settings dialog for this extcap.
If you rather capture from your local network interface then search for questions how to make sure WinPcap or NPcap is running.
why when i look at my IPv4 statistics none of the options register anything? no destinations no ports. All addresses count is 0.
i just down loaded a previous version of wireshark and when i open it the capture interfaces include Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and my Vpn provider. When i choose to capture I dont get any error codes and it runs just fine
I'm struggling with similar issues, yet when I attempt to open the settings of the interface (Cisco Dump Extcap) it comes up with the error:
Error by extcap pipe: ** (ciscodump:2753) 19:35:41.979454 [ciscodump WARNING] ./extcap/ciscodump.c:714 -- main(): ERROR: count of packets must be specified (--remote-count)
I'm not too sure what I'm doing wrong, any assistance would be extremely appreciated.

Well, did you provide a remote host? And what version of Wireshark is this? I assume it's on Windows, but which one? You need to give us something to work with here.
I down loaded wireshark, opened it, selected to start a capture. Thats it thats all that i have done. it is version 2.4.6(v2.4.6-0-ge2f305aa12) Im not even sure what it means when it says missing parameter --remote -host. Do i need to add the parameter --remote -host?
