When I try and install Ver 3.5.2 64-bit I get the following error:
 
Extract: vcredist_x64.exe... 100%
Execute: "C:\Program Files\Wireshark\vcredist_x64.exe" /install /quiet /norestart
vcredist_x64 returned 5
 
The expended error message is : The VisualC++ Redistributable installer failed with error 5.  Please make sure you have KB2999226 or KB3118401 installed.
 
These updates date back to 2016 and are for W7 and I suspect wouldn't solve the problem.  I've found a few mentions of this problem on this forum but no solution.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Can you at least try to install a release version, currently Wireshark 3.6.2? The development version you refer to is unsupported.

So sorry - a typo which I didn't spot.  It is 3.6.2 which I'm trying to install.
