I'm vision-imparied. Where is the simple GUI way to change Wireshark from dark mode to the default light ?

Please do not provide developer or code items here as they are not helpful, irrelevant and I do not care.

The question is simple... how does one change Wireshark from dark mode to light color ? I am asking for the step-by-step how-to solution required to change the Wireshark color.

Wireshark 3.4.4 (Git v3.4.4 packaged as 3.4.4-1) on Kali Linux.

And please do not deviate from answering the the single question above. I do not want to change the color scheme of Kali Linux to alter the color scheme of Wireshark. That is not a solution.

Colors are set in the Wireshark preferences dialog, from the Edit menu -> Preferences, and then in the dialog by selecting Appearance -> Fonts and Colors.

By default the colors should track the "System Default" colors, but if the droplist to the right of the samples is set to something other than "System Default" the text and background colors can be set via the color patches that appear to the left of the samples.

There is no dark\light mode option as such, the underlying Qt library that Wireshark is built with doesn't yet support it.

No that solution does not work. I already tried that. As shown here, I changed the preferences and the colors and it does absolutely nothing.

And what is the deal with a poster not being able to upload an image in their efforts to obtain support here ? Is this Reddit where a person has to have upvotes to post an image ? This website is saying I have to have 60 points to be allowed to upload an image.

Anyway, here is the image of the preference changes that do nothing (Wireshark stays in Dark Mode). And if anyone is interested as to why I don't want to change the Kali desktop from Dark Mode, it is because vision-impaired people like me use light\white applications against a dark desktop. It's called contrast.

The limitations on posting and images for new posters are because of abuse by spammers.

The color controls are limited and only affect some of the GUI elements. The elements on the "welcome" page are not modifiable.

Have you tried creating a new profile and changing the colors as it seems the "default" profile isn't modifiable?

Wireshark is maintained by volunteers, no-one has yet found the spare time to make changes to allow all the colors of GUI elements to be modified as far as the toolkit used (Qt) allows.

This is the place for Wireshark community support, right ? And yet a user has to play upvote and point games to be allowed to post images that assist them in getting the support that they need. The posting rules for new posters makes no sense since a person is only going to come here, create a new account, to make a post when they need support. Yet the posting rules for new posters are not conducive to them getting the support that came here to get.

Everybody appreciates the fact that Wireshark is volunteer supported. However, I can absolutely guarantee that not a single person in the entire history of supporting Wireshark ever considered the needs of vision-impaired individuals. It is that lack of consideration that is at the center of the worldwide outrage that is now demanding equity in every aspect of life.

The fact that vision impaired people ...(more)

The restrictions on new accounts are required as otherwise the site would be overrun with spammers. There's no restriction on posting an image elsewhere and adding a link to it here. The ability to use the resources on this site are lifted once you prove that you are here for the benefit of the community and your karma rises.

Everybody appreciates the fact ...
