MacOS Big Sur install problems

I am having issues with installing and running Wireshark on my mac, I get the following errors when I open the application after installing it from the Wireshark website.

error message

the the show details reads

You don't have permission to read the file "ss7pcs".

You don't have permission to read the file "init.lua".

the issue seems to be i haven't given Wireshark permissions to my internet traffic. but I don't know how to fix it

Silly me...

.config was accidentally owned by root not the user...

simply had to change that
