Wireshark crashes every time I enter a frame matches longer than 5 char

I try to enter a filter to match my research purpose: frame matches ".*string here" and wireshark crashes every time. Tried all 3 versions available. Is there a workaround for this or a fast solution?

Can you be more specific about your OS and the various versions of Wireshark?

Windows 10, using the latest released updates x64. Wireshark versions tried: 2.5.1, 2.4.5, 2.2.13

This works for me using the latest trunk build (so 2.5.1+). Does this happen with every capture file or just with one specific file?

It hapens during ongoing captures and with saved files (any file, even downloaded ones from forums to try after your comment).

I can't think of anything specific to change this, the way forward would be to get a crash dump that I can load up in the debugger and see what happened. Are you willing to do that?
