Hi ... can Wireshark work with the 6 GHz spectrum with a WiFi 6E AX210 PCIE WiFi Card?

asked Feb 17 '1

Dear Wireshark Users/Support,

I have a new WiFi 6E AX210 PCIE WiFi Card running on my Windows 10 machine. I see documentation for selecting 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Is 6 GHz also being added to the list?

Regards,

Bryan

I think the Wireless Toolbar has been removed and I fear this question is beyond the purview of this group. I do not think that there is a version of AirPCAP or other for 802.11AX or Wi-Fi 6E yet.

If just looking to capture the traffic running atop WifI, e.g. TCP etc., then as far as Wireshark (actually npcap) is concerned it's just another interface.

However, if you want to see the 802.11 frames, then monitor mode on Windows is very much in the lap of the gods, the hardware and the drivers for that hardware.

See this blog post from @Jasper about Wireless capture on Windows.
