malformed filters not changing back to default after unistall then downloading reinstalling and restarting ?

So you're just capturing on an Ethernet or Wi-Fi interface, and you're just capturing at your home or at your office (and, if you're capturing at your office, you don't work for a cable company doing support of their customer network)?
