Greetings,

I recent made the update from 3.2.6 to 3.2.7 I am a newbie with not a lot of IT experience. Using 3.2.6 I was able to most of the devices connected to my home network. When I updated to 3.2.7 the traffic I capture is very different. I have selected all of the boxes in the Capture option page but this would not capture any traffic. I deleted all of the traffic filters and can not reinstall them. I can not attached file saved from 3.2.6 and 3.2.7. I would like to capture all the device traffic on my home network. Please advise how to resolve this issue. Thank you for you time and I look forward to hearing from you

Windows 7? Seriously?

Actually nothing exiting should happen on an upgade from 3.2.6 to 3.2.7 as it is just bug fixes. Can you retrace the exact choices you made during the upgrade? That might explain some of the issues.

This sounds like an npcap issue, running on an unsupported OS might also be an issue as well. Try the following:

  1. Reboot (yes seriously).
  2. Uninstall npcap (from Programs and Features).
  3. Reboot (yes again).
  4. Install the latest version of npcap.
  5. Reboot (again).

Gentlemen,

Thank your suggestions, I have since upgraded to Windows 10 Pro. I ran 3.2.7 and all of my interfaces are still missing as I had mentioned in my initial email. I uninstalled and reinstalled 3.2.7 and the interfaces are still missing. Next I uninstalled 3.2.7 and reinstalled 3.2.6 and have the same result, the interfaces are still missing. Please confirm if there is a default file or list of the interfaces so I can re-add them. Thank you for your time.

Thanks,

Rich

@MOS See the instructions in my previous comment, the issue is likely to be npcap and NOT Wireshark. Although npcap is installed by Wireshark, the version in the Wireshark builds tends to lag behind npcap releases, so using the latest npcap release can help.
